The Republic of Serbia has a long history of cooperation with the diaspora. Although there is an institutional, strategic and legal framework for cooperation with the diaspora, there is still a lack of a centralized unit / body dedicated exclusively to supporting diaspora investments and business engagement with Serbia. The idea of such unit – body existed in Serbia for several years and was promoted by key business institutions and associations, but it was never implemented in practice on a formal level. In order to fill the existing gap and use the potential of the Serbian business diaspora for the development of Serbia, Link Up! Serbia II project has created the Diaspora Business Hub (DBH) which will serve as a support office for everyone from  Serbian diaspora who wants to invest, find a business partner or get all the relevant information needed to invest.

Diaspora Business Hub (DBH) implements its activities in cooperation with relevant institutions in Serbia, such as the Development Agency of Serbia (RAS), the Chamber of Commerce and Industry of Serbia (CCIS), regional development agencies (RDAs), local self-governments in Serbia, embassies and consulates of Serbia in DACH states, as well as diaspora organizations and bilateral chambers. Diaspora Business Hub is managed by the Diaspora Business Hub Manager. The manager communicates directly with diaspora representatives and domestic small and medium enterprises, sends and analyses diaspora questionnaires, works on the analysis of compatibility of domestic and companies in the diaspora for cooperation and internationalization and supports work of experts in the diaspora in order to achieve the greatest possible result. The manager will monitor the online business platform created in cooperation with CCIS, information sections (for more information click here) and conduct business operations towards the diaspora.
